Apparently I am the only person who had no idea that these sushi conveyor-belt restaurants existed. I saw one for the first time (I believe it was referred to as a “Sushi Boat”) in California last month.
Me: “What the heck is going on in there?”
J: “It’s a sushi boat! You’ve never seen one?”
Me: “Uhh… no?”
J: “Are you kidding me? They’re everywhere!”
I would love to try one out, but in my defense: according to Chowhound, there are no sushi boats in NYC.
UPDATE: Liz says there’s one in her GROCERY STORE in Portland. Wow. Fail, NYC.
